November Blog Topic
It is that time of year when we are all thinking about what we are thankful for. That's right it is Thanksgiving time! We are very thankful for all of our students in Harrison and very thankful for our Gifted and Talented students. This month I want you to reflect on what you have been thankful for in your education. As a gifted student, what educational opportunities are you thankful for? Also, you know that there is a wishbone in the turkey and they say that whoever gets the wishbone gets to break it with another person. The person that breaks off the biggest piece will have their wish granted! Along with what you are thankful for in your education, tell me what your greatest wish would be as you continue your education(No wishing for money unless it is a scholarship to a college on your wish list!)

Harrison School District Two Gifted and Talented Student Blog: October GT Blog Topic
Harrison School District Two Gifted and Talented Student Blog: March GT Blog Topic:
Hello gifted students! I am Erika Tunson and I am the new Elementary Gifted and Talented Coordinator. I am going to be updating the blog monthly and I am anxious to get your posts! This month I will post the topic but I would ask that you write some topics you would be interested in blogging about at the end of your post this month. Next month I hope to use a student generated topic!

When I was in 5th grade I was identified as a gifted student so I understand what it is like to be gifted in a classroom where most students are not. Create a metaphor a simile for the following statement: Being a gifted student is...
My example: Being a gifted student is like being a sunny, warm day in the late fall. It is unexpected, even unusual and everyone loves it. They even comment on how lovely the day is. The problem is it is uncommon and it could change and be cold and gray the next day. Then, people are disappointed.

March GT Blog Topic
Many gifted students see their giftedness as a double-edged sword. What do you see as the pros to being gifted? What do you see as the cons to being gifted?
Bonus question: What type of figurative language can you find in the question above? :)
